Valentines Round 2

I am a little late posting Round 2 inspiration for the February CoasteRide ICRCFEB17 at Indian Craft Room. It has just been a little busy around here. I was able to make a card in time for Round 2 atleast πŸ˜‰

So here is my card:

Can’t tell the dimension?

Yes the hearts are dimensional… punched out hearts are folded in half and layered on top of another in the middle. This is saw on a card somewhere..and thought this is perfect.

The heart punches are from Stampin’ Up! I am not sure if they still sell these punches. I also added some wink of stella clear glitter to them. The background is watercolored with some gansai tambi colors. I used a heart stencil and some gold gansai tambi paint to create the hearts. Ofcourse watercolor and stencils don’t give the perfect image…but using a simple red fine tip marker worked out perfect with the painted hearts.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Hello Beautiful stamp set. It was part of a card kit. I like the writing of this sentiment.

So this is all for today. Do join in the fun and win some awesome prizes.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting

Cheers =)

Pop-Up Valentines

February is here and so is the monthly challenge at Indian Craft Room. This month’s Coasteride is related to Valentines. Check out the challenge at ICRCFEB17.

So I decided to make my card have some 3-d element besides the usual popped up image. I made the whole card dimensional πŸ˜‰Β  The card design is inspired by Maymay Made It Crafts via You Tube. You can find the tutorial HERE.

So the card front has dimension in form of the heart die cut that has been popped up.

The inside pops up when the card is opened. A pretty easy mechanism to make I think. The 4 panels inside are either stamped or have stickers on them.

The stamps, papers and stickers were part of Simon Says Stamp card kits. Honestly I don’t even remember which thing belong to which kit, except that they all are part of Valentine kits.

The card ends up being fairly thick. So if mailing, it would require extra postage. But I can only imagine receivers excitement on getting a fun card like this πŸ˜€ I know I would love it.

This is all for today. Do check out the creations by other DT members.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

Perfect In My Books

Today I made a card using Simon Says Card Kit September 2014 (Not available any more). It has a cute stamp set and some pretty papers going with the theme. You can still find the stamp – To Thine Own Shelf on their website. I really liked the sentiment “You are perfect in my books” from the set and thought it would make a cute valentine or anytime card πŸ™‚Β

I love how the stamp set has these shelves and all the things that one would usually put on a shelf. I wanted to keep it simple and let the printed paper and the sentiment shine. So I just stamped 3 books and some cute hearts from Lawn Fawn’s Love you Tons – cute dainty hearts πŸ˜‰ with a touch Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen

Β Since this card does not have embellishments…I popped up the sentiment card.Β

This is all for today….Β

Until next time,

Happy Krafting =)

Valentine Love

While Georgia is all snowed in, with icy roads and stranded traffic especially in Atlanta…. we had schools closed today and are going to be closed tomorrow since the weather has been cold with freezing temps and very little ice melting. So I created these 2 Valentine cards. I was a roll πŸ˜‰Β

Card 1:

I recently bought some copic markers (after watching million episodes on how to use them). I colored in the I love you with copic shades of red and then used glossy accents (my fav thing to use lately) I used the 3-heart punch (from Stampin Up!) to punch and pop the hearts.Β

Card 2:

I simply used DSP from stampin’ Up and layered it with hearts using Heidi Swapp’s stencil (from Michaels). After coloring the hearts in I used glossy accents. I used the Three Little Words stamp set (Stampin’ Up!)

I was not sure about the 2nd card…. but now when I see the picture here…it does not look too bad :))

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Valentines is around the corner… I know we are still in January, but this month seems to be flying and in the blink of an eye it will be February and Valentines will be there…So I am adding on to my valentine collection for the store that helps me sell my cards =)

Here is creation from yesterday….

I will admit this layout is not my creation πŸ˜‰ I have been browsing card ideas on Pinterest and I remember seeing something like this…. I love the banner idea… so had to try it.

I really like how the card turned out πŸ˜‰Β

Until Next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

Hold those candies….

So Valentine is here…. time for some chocolates, flowers and looove….browsing through websites/blogs ofΒ  some Stampin’ Up! demonstrators looking for inspiration I went on to Chic N Scratch’s website… love her ideas and love that she shares most of them by making videos =)

So her today’s project was a Valentine Basket ( click on the name to go watch the video which gives measurements and directions) …… cute little thing and holds good amount of candy as well… So here is my version of the Valentine Basket:

It was very easy, simple and trust me when I say it holds loads of candy. It could be customized for any season/occasion… Valentine, easter basket, birthday basket , Christmas and whatever you can think of.

I love making these boxes and bags and baskets… thanks to Stampin’ Up! Demo’s like Angie make it easy for people like me to try new things… Another place to go is Splitcoaststampers Resource section. They have free tutorials for boxes and like and also various techniques… that is another website that I often visit.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting

Cheers =)

Absolutely Love Love Love Iris Fold… it just makes cards look so different and beautiful. For those who don’t know what Iris Fold is… It is folding different designer papers and stick in a template. It can be used in scrapbook or to make cards and add an extra depth. I had tried it once and made a tulip. Google Iris Fold and you will find tonnes of free template that you can print. It looks something like the following picture

I tried tulip once for a friend of mine. This time since Valentine is close… I found a heart and tried it on a card…

Super easy- print the template…copy it on tracing paper… template has all the lines and tells what all numbers should have the same color. Trace the heart outline on the paper you want to work with, cut it out and tape it on the printed paper to glue the strips on. I got this one from http://circleofcrafters.com/irisfolding/irisfoldingheart.html it has step by step instructions… So go ahead try it…trust me you can’t really go wrong with this πŸ˜€

Until Next time…

Happy Krafting =)

Valentines is coming

Valentines day is pretty close.. with this new job, now I have time to work on cards and list them on Etsy =)

So here is the first card I made using the new Hearts Collection Framelit Die #125599. Put 2 frames together to make the outline heart. Simple and Cute.Β

What I did with the heart that came out of the center of the frame you ask?? USE IT ofcourse… I’m a stamper… we try to use everything possible (learned it from my scrap loving friend :D)Β

Used the whole heart from previous card to make this card. This was like killing 2 birds with one stone πŸ˜‰Β

Until Next time,

Happy Krafting =)
