Dress It Up April

April is here and so we are back with the new CoasteRide at Indian Craft Room. This month ICRCAPR17 brings a very interesting challenge- Dress it up!

So here is my inspiration for this challenge:

1

So I dressed up my card with a dress 😀 I found this via Pinterest and had to try it. It was very easy…. just 1 print, cutting and folding. I found the template and directions HERE.

1a

The 3-d look makes it looks so real….and the design makes it versatile to use it on a card or decorate a bag… also it could be used for any occasion … birthday, wedding, friendship… 😀

1d

The paper I used to make the dress was part of a Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. It was white based embossed paper. I used some mustard seed distress ink and sponged the paper. The background paper also comes from a Simon Says Stamp Card kit. I did not add any sentiment right now…. will do when I use the card.

Making this card was fun and this challenge is as much fun too.

So join in the fun.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting

Cheers =)

Birthday Cards

Lately I have been on a making spree…I have made quite a few cards.. shared them on our FB page and my instagram account…just did not get around writing about them here. So a quick post about the cards I made.

445

This card uses Paper Smooches Birthday Buddies, My Favorite things Stitched Circle Scallop Frame and distress inks. I colored the worm with copics and fussy cut it.

447

This card also uses Paper Smooches Birthday Buddies. The fish is on a spin and slide disc from My Favorite things and uses Lawn Fawn’s Slide On Over Die. The background is colored with distress inks.

446

Another card using image and sentiment from Paper Smooches Birthday Buddies. This time I used My Favorite Things Interactive Window Stax die. Again distress inked background (I love doing that ..if 3 cards with same technique don’t say it ;D)

446c

451

This card uses Simon Says Stamp Ice Cream Dream set (part of a card kit). The paper is also from the same kit. I used Lawn Fawns Stitched Party Banners Die to cut out the circle and the banner printed paper.

452

This card uses Mudra Craft Stamps Let’s Party. Watercoloring is always a fun technique and creating background like this with watercolor droplets always creates an interesting background.

453

This card uses Paper Sweeties Happy Cake Day stamp set. The background is an MFT stencil (not sold anymore). I also used My Favorite Thing Stitched Oval Scallop Frame.

454

This card again used Mudra Craft Stamps Let’s Party stamp set. I used the confetti stamps to create background in some bright colors. The hat was stamped, colored and fussy cut. I also used some wink of stella and glossy accents on the hats.

All images are copic colored, unless stated otherwise.

No I am not done… more cards to come… Ive truly been on a making spree 😀

But this is all for today.

Until next time,

Happy krafting,

Cheers =)

Man Birthday Card

Today’s card is for the March CoasteRide at Indian Craft Room. This month it is about making anything but making it Masculine.

Masculine Projects can be hard at times… especially when trying to make cards… pattern paper..images..sentiment… everything should scream Man!! Well I think I managed this challenge… So here is the 1st project for this month:

1b

The bottles are from Avery Elle’s The Man stamp set. I made them to look like beer bottle 😉 The sentiments are from 2 different sets.

1e

Adding glossy accents would have been nice..but I did not do so.

1d

The sentiment “Cheers” is from Lawn Fawns Let’s Bokeh and the other sentiment is from a set by Stampin’ Up! (retired). I white embossed them directly on the patterned paper.

1c

I think it is a pretty manly card 😀

Checkout the challenge (linked above) and participate to win some fabulous prizes.

This is all for today,

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

New Home Congrats

Here is a quick card I made using Mudra Stamp’s House Is. I had to have this stamp because of all the sentiments it has. Stamps to create housewarming/new home cards are hard to find I think and one with sentiments like “Congrats on your new Home” …well, I haven’t found one…So this set is perfect for me 🙂

Now my card:

441

I used some distress inks and a cloud mask to create the background. Colors used- Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Evergreen Bough and Mowed Lawn.

441c

The house is also from the stamp set, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut. I decided to pop up the house and the cloud with the sentiment.

441b

I love this sentiment…the font especially. The words new and home are separate. With all the other sentiments.. this card can be used for many occasions.

441a

So this is all for today…

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

A little Birdie Congrats

I have a quick post about this card I made for a sweet couple who are expecting. I was ecstatic about the news coz I get to be an aunt 😀 and they specially called me to tell the happy news!! So I thought sending a card is must!

440

I love this set from Simon Says Stamp We’re Expecting. I think they don’t sell it anymore. I have the matching dies as well…so cutting them out becomes easy.

440c

I like the simple sentiment…matches the image perfectly.

440b

The scallop circle frame is from My Favorite Things Stitched Circle Scallop Frames die-namics. I bought this around Christmas…Finally used it!!! I also added wink of stella clear glitter to the bird and covered it with Glossy Accents. I love making images look like enameled stickers 😀

440a

This is all for today’s creativity.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

Valentines Round 2

I am a little late posting Round 2 inspiration for the February CoasteRide ICRCFEB17 at Indian Craft Room. It has just been a little busy around here. I was able to make a card in time for Round 2 atleast 😉

So here is my card:

icrcfeb17ii-a

Can’t tell the dimension?

icrcfeb17ii-1

Yes the hearts are dimensional… punched out hearts are folded in half and layered on top of another in the middle. This is saw on a card somewhere..and thought this is perfect.

icrcfeb17ii-b

The heart punches are from Stampin’ Up! I am not sure if they still sell these punches. I also added some wink of stella clear glitter to them. The background is watercolored with some gansai tambi colors. I used a heart stencil and some gold gansai tambi paint to create the hearts. Ofcourse watercolor and stencils don’t give the perfect image…but using a simple red fine tip marker worked out perfect with the painted hearts.

icrcfeb17ii-c

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Hello Beautiful stamp set. It was part of a card kit. I like the writing of this sentiment.

icrcfeb17ii-d

So this is all for today. Do join in the fun and win some awesome prizes.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting

Cheers =)

Pop-Up Valentines

February is here and so is the monthly challenge at Indian Craft Room. This month’s Coasteride is related to Valentines. Check out the challenge at ICRCFEB17.

So I decided to make my card have some 3-d element besides the usual popped up image. I made the whole card dimensional 😉  The card design is inspired by Maymay Made It Crafts via You Tube. You can find the tutorial HERE.

icrcfeb17a

So the card front has dimension in form of the heart die cut that has been popped up.

icrcfeb17e

The inside pops up when the card is opened. A pretty easy mechanism to make I think. The 4 panels inside are either stamped or have stickers on them.

icrcfeb17b

The stamps, papers and stickers were part of Simon Says Stamp card kits. Honestly I don’t even remember which thing belong to which kit, except that they all are part of Valentine kits.

icrcfeb17c

The card ends up being fairly thick. So if mailing, it would require extra postage. But I can only imagine receivers excitement on getting a fun card like this 😀 I know I would love it.

This is all for today. Do check out the creations by other DT members.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

Embossing Blog Hop

Welcome to the end of the year Indian Craft Room Blog Hop. You have come to the last stop of this Blog hop and you would have landed here via Sharda’s Blog or the Blog Hop post at ICR. We are ending this year with a bang by having some of our past DT’s be a part of this hop.

bh-button

The Hop is about embossing…wet or dry… well…I decided to create a card with both 😀 Here is my creation:

bh04-1

So I used an embossing folder (dry embossing), added versamark (wet embossing) on one side of the folder, put cardstock and ran it through my big shot. This not only embossed my cardstock, but also transferred the versmark ink. Then I added white embossing powder and melted it with my heat gun. Then started coloring with distress inks. The embossing folder Floral Frenzy was part of the SSS November Card Kit.

bh04-3

The distress inks color I used were: Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral and Frayed Burlap (color combo idea from THIS POST at SSS Blog). With the round blending tool, I started to apply the colors. The white embossing powder resists the inks, while the open spaces pick the color.

bh04-2

I just love how the colors reveal the embossed background. I used to this technique a lot before..minus the distress inks. I would just use colored embossing powder. But I think I like the blended inks revealing the image better than colored embossing powder 😀 I did add some Nuvo Glitter Drops in the middle of some flowers for shimmer.

bh04-4

The sentiment is from Mama Elephant’s Sunday Sentiments and it is white embossed. Since I wanted the background to shine, I kept the sentiment simple and small.

So this was my contribution to this Blog Hop. Do not forget to checkout the rest, incase you haven’t:

Spiderman Birthday

Today I have another fun card for a little boy… My nephew/Godson is turning 3 next week… time sure flew!! Last year I gave him a School Bus birthday card (he loved Wheels on the Bus as a baby). He is not so baby any more (sigh!!) and currently he is loving spiderman and wanted a superman cake… so I thought what could I, the crafty aunt, do!! Pinterest search Spiderman birthday cards and voila… a wonderful punch art tutorial by Natasha Hein at Diary of Two Crafty Girls. She shared on how to make the spiderman using punches. You can find her post HERE.

So on to my creation using her tutorial:

438-1

I love it…and hoping so does he!!! Since spiderman was the main focus…everything else is simple and basic colors.

438-3

The background was created using Stampin’ Up! Spider Web Embossing folder (retired). I used some Simon Says Stamp White Pigment Ink on the web. All the punched I used are from Stampin’ Up! too. My old collection 😀

438-4

The simple sentiment is from Mudra’s Purely Labeled Sentiments set. I white embossed it on black cardstock and layered on the red-blue spidey colors.

438-5

And the pirde and joy… Spiderman!! Simply loved how he turned out… and so easy to make… yes the same embossing folder needs to be used to emboss the body parts (remember he wears the striped costume). For the black lines, I used a black marker and went over the embossed lines…I liked it better than sponging as suggested by Natasha Hein.

As always, I like to keep punch art templates for future reference. This is how I saved this one:

spiderman

All parts punched out and glued on a white cardstock, with necessary instructions. On the back I attach a sample, so I know how to go about gluing the pieces.

spiderman1

This is all for today… hoping my boy loves his card 😀

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

Dinosaur Birthday

Today’s card is one I made for a little boy in my neighborhood. He turned 3 and loves dinosaur. With some ink blending, die cutting and Silhouette Cameo I came up with this:

437

I started with a 4-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of cardstock and started with distress inks – tumbled glass and broken china to make the sky. Then mowed lawn to make the grass. I did not like the plain look and decided to do some dimension like effect. I do not own any hill dies… going through my dies, found Simon Says Stamps Stitched Curved Edge die… and voila…we have hills!!

437a

The hills are colored in with distress inks too and glued on one top of the other…to create a scene type effect. I like how it ended 😀 The dinosaur is a Silhouette Cameo cut out… I printed it and used the registration marks to cut the outline. Perfect cutting!!

437b

The balloon is from Simon Says Stamp Balloon Die set and the number 3 balloon is from Avery Elle’s Numbered Balloon set. I used wink of stella clear glitter pen and glossy accents on both the balloons.

Easy and fun card. Hopefully the little boy it was meant for enjoyed it as much!

This is all for today,

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)
