Welcome to the end of the year Indian Craft Room Blog Hop. You have come to the last stop of this Blog hop and you would have landed here via Sharda’s Blog or the Blog Hop post at ICR. We are ending this year with a bang by having some of our past DT’s be a part of this hop.
The Hop is about embossing…wet or dry… well…I decided to create a card with both 😀 Here is my creation:
So I used an embossing folder (dry embossing), added versamark (wet embossing) on one side of the folder, put cardstock and ran it through my big shot. This not only embossed my cardstock, but also transferred the versmark ink. Then I added white embossing powder and melted it with my heat gun. Then started coloring with distress inks. The embossing folder Floral Frenzy was part of the SSS November Card Kit.
The distress inks color I used were: Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral and Frayed Burlap (color combo idea from THIS POST at SSS Blog). With the round blending tool, I started to apply the colors. The white embossing powder resists the inks, while the open spaces pick the color.
I just love how the colors reveal the embossed background. I used to this technique a lot before..minus the distress inks. I would just use colored embossing powder. But I think I like the blended inks revealing the image better than colored embossing powder 😀 I did add some Nuvo Glitter Drops in the middle of some flowers for shimmer.
The sentiment is from Mama Elephant’s Sunday Sentiments and it is white embossed. Since I wanted the background to shine, I kept the sentiment simple and small.
So this was my contribution to this Blog Hop. Do not forget to checkout the rest, incase you haven’t:
