Happy New Year to all. May this New Year bring all good things your way! With the New Year setting in, it is time for new challenge at Indian Craft Room.
Here is the challenge:
Sounds easy…doesn’t it…. but if you are someone who works with layers and colors … this can be challenge. CAS stands for Clean and Simple… so basically you have a lot of open space. Then add to that minimum embellishments…. and twist of using something new!!! Yes it can be challenging.
Nevertheless, it was fun to create. With some new purchases done around Thanksgiving, this card was perfect to break out one of the stamps. Here is my creation:
The new stamp I used is Technique Tuesday’s Budding Poppies. I stamped it with Versafine Black Ink and Heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear powder.
Let me tell you, I stamped the image 3 times!!! First time did it on watercolor paper, colored the flowers in, decided to use distress inks to do the background and realized…. where is the Clean part?? 😦 So stamped it again, this time on 80lb cardstock… but the coloring was not turning out smooth, so 3rd time is charm… this time..went on watercolor paper AGAIN… but just coloring in the flowers…. no background!
I love how the coloring turned out… used Zig Real Clean Color Brush Markers. Absolutely love how smoothly they blend, especially on watercolor paper. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.
So this is my share of this challenge. Check out all the creations by the DT members and a Guest Designer by clicking on the CoasteRide image above.
Until next time,
