Glowing Light

So it is my turn to Host monthly CoasteRide at Indian Craft Room and I decided to create a Recipe Challenge… to go with the Holidays…Christmas = Baking/Cooking… Hence Recipe Challenge 😉 So here is the challenge:

RecipeStory Board

The twist was to use a technique with the ingredients. Click on the above image to check out the wonderful creations of all the DT members and the techniques they used.

 Here is what I created:

So the techniques I used- Ink smooshing and Glowing Light. Ink smooshing is an easy technique. All you need it some ink, water and a piece of acetate. Add some ink on craft sheet, spray some water over it and pick up the wet ink with acetate and smoosh on your paper. Best part of this technique is that every time you do this, it is going to look different. I used Tim Holtz Distress inks to create my background.

Next I used an old Stampin’ Up! Die and die cut the Christmas Trees. To decorate the Christmas trees, I used Glowing Light Technique. A simple and cool technique. All you need is a white gel pen and some blending chalk pastels. Make dots with white gel pen and then use a Q-Tip to pick up chalk and rub it in circular motion over the pen dot. I used Inkidinkado Blending chalks- Bold Bright. To learn more about this technique, visit SplitcoastStamper Tutorial. It would have been nice I had a fixative spray to seal the chalks so they would not rub off!

Finally I added the sentiment from Paper Smooches Joyful Greetings. Some sequins and a gold ribbon complete the look of this card.

It has been a fun challenge and was fun to see all the techniques the other DT members used. If you find the challenge interesting …join in the fun and share your creation.

This is all for now.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting =)
