ICR WATERCOLOR BLOG HOP

Welcome to round 5 of the ICR BLOG HOP!!!

BLOG HOP NOV 2015You should have arrived here from MV Pratyusha’s Blog! If not make sure you begin the HOP from the INDIAN CRAFT ROOM!

Well so now that you are here 🙂 here is my creation!

BlogHop01To start any watercolor project, you want to make sure you have a good quality watercolor paper. In my card I used Ranger Water Color Paper. So I started with using Distress inks to color the background. I used Blueprint Sketch, Twisted Citron and Mustard Seed with water to paint…. let it dry (or use heat gun for quick drying) and went back with some more color to darken shades at places. Once I was satisfied how it looked, I decided to use this technique I saw another crafter use.

BlogHop02So the technique involves a stencil and a wet cloth/baby wipe. I used a baby wipe. So I laid my stencil on the watercolored background and dab the baby wipe on each heart for atleast 30 seconds… since distress inks react with water even after drying, pressing the wet wipe through the stencil picks out the the color leaving this watermark! Easy Peasy!!!

BlogHop03The Heart is from Simon Says Stamp I See You which I stamped and embossed with Gold embossing powder. I colored them using Zig Clean Color Real Brush and fussy cut the heart. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  Finally I finished it with some Taylored Expression Sequins. To complete the card I stuck the front panel on a black cardstock slightly bigger and layred it on white card base. Bright and Cheery card 🙂 Sure to bring some spirits up!!
