So it is time for a new challenge at Indian Craft Room. This time the challenge is an awesome moodboard/flavorboard. Before we start, find the challenge HERE. Now lets take at look at the beautiful moodboard/flavorboard created by our DT member Pratyusha. Check out her POST to see her creation.
Simply gorgeous Flavor board….the colors, textures, words and that quilling. I like moodboards/Flavorboards. There are so many possibilities and it is amazing to see how everyone get inspired and create something different. Love it! So here is my creation according to the moodboard.
So I picked the colors, the butterfly, the textures, balloon and quilling….yes I am so not good at it, but I gave it a shot.Simple circles…. but were so hard to get right!! I used Strathmore Mixed Media Paper and used some Distress Inks to make the background. I used Martha Stewart Paper Stencils to create the heart background using Ranger Texture Paste and some Distress colors. Also added some black splatter.
I decided to have some more texture by adding gold paper from Stampin’ Up! (retired) under the picture. The quilled circles were created using this Beginners Quilling Kit that I had bought from Michaels ages ago.
Also decided to add some balloons which I die cut using Simon Says Stamp’s Balloons Die. The buuterflies were cut and embossed using a Butterfly Embosslit by Stampin’ Up! (retired set) and layered them for a 3-d look. The phrase “Life is Beautiful” was created using tiny stickers. Finally pearls and the hand drawn line on the edges complete the look of the whole page.
The picture adds a lot too…its a pic of my 2 precious godchildren who are first cousins, 3 months apart, met first time since birth and celebrated Rakshabandhan (Indian Tradition that celebrates Brother-Sister relationship) together for first time. This moment was one of their happy times together that was captured well and I wanted to preserve.
SO …Don’t wait….Come on over to Indian Craft Room and check the challenge and Join in the fun!!!
Until next time,
