Man Birthday Card

Today’s card is for the March CoasteRide at Indian Craft Room. This month it is about making anything but making it Masculine.

Masculine Projects can be hard at times… especially when trying to make cards… pattern paper..images..sentiment… everything should scream Man!! Well I think I managed this challenge… So here is the 1st project for this month:

1b

The bottles are from Avery Elle’s The Man stamp set. I made them to look like beer bottle 😉 The sentiments are from 2 different sets.

1e

Adding glossy accents would have been nice..but I did not do so.

1d

The sentiment “Cheers” is from Lawn Fawns Let’s Bokeh and the other sentiment is from a set by Stampin’ Up! (retired). I white embossed them directly on the patterned paper.

1c

I think it is a pretty manly card 😀

Checkout the challenge (linked above) and participate to win some fabulous prizes.

This is all for today,

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

New Home Congrats

Here is a quick card I made using Mudra Stamp’s House Is. I had to have this stamp because of all the sentiments it has. Stamps to create housewarming/new home cards are hard to find I think and one with sentiments like “Congrats on your new Home” …well, I haven’t found one…So this set is perfect for me 🙂

Now my card:

441

I used some distress inks and a cloud mask to create the background. Colors used- Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Evergreen Bough and Mowed Lawn.

441c

The house is also from the stamp set, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut. I decided to pop up the house and the cloud with the sentiment.

441b

I love this sentiment…the font especially. The words new and home are separate. With all the other sentiments.. this card can be used for many occasions.

441a

So this is all for today…

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

A little Birdie Congrats

I have a quick post about this card I made for a sweet couple who are expecting. I was ecstatic about the news coz I get to be an aunt 😀 and they specially called me to tell the happy news!! So I thought sending a card is must!

440

I love this set from Simon Says Stamp We’re Expecting. I think they don’t sell it anymore. I have the matching dies as well…so cutting them out becomes easy.

440c

I like the simple sentiment…matches the image perfectly.

440b

The scallop circle frame is from My Favorite Things Stitched Circle Scallop Frames die-namics. I bought this around Christmas…Finally used it!!! I also added wink of stella clear glitter to the bird and covered it with Glossy Accents. I love making images look like enameled stickers 😀

440a

This is all for today’s creativity.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

Valentines Round 2

I am a little late posting Round 2 inspiration for the February CoasteRide ICRCFEB17 at Indian Craft Room. It has just been a little busy around here. I was able to make a card in time for Round 2 atleast 😉

So here is my card:

icrcfeb17ii-a

Can’t tell the dimension?

icrcfeb17ii-1

Yes the hearts are dimensional… punched out hearts are folded in half and layered on top of another in the middle. This is saw on a card somewhere..and thought this is perfect.

icrcfeb17ii-b

The heart punches are from Stampin’ Up! I am not sure if they still sell these punches. I also added some wink of stella clear glitter to them. The background is watercolored with some gansai tambi colors. I used a heart stencil and some gold gansai tambi paint to create the hearts. Ofcourse watercolor and stencils don’t give the perfect image…but using a simple red fine tip marker worked out perfect with the painted hearts.

icrcfeb17ii-c

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Hello Beautiful stamp set. It was part of a card kit. I like the writing of this sentiment.

icrcfeb17ii-d

So this is all for today. Do join in the fun and win some awesome prizes.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting

Cheers =)

Matchbook style Gift Card Holder

Today I have a set of gift card holders. This is not my original idea. I got this idea from Dawns Stamping Thoughts via You Tube. I did do some minor changes (not sure if you call call it changes :p) but I did add an extra layer as well as removed a layer. So here is my version of the card.

gh14

Dawn’s idea of this gift card holder sits on a 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ folded card.. so like card and gift card holder together… 2-in-1. That’s the layer I removed!! I like how it looks without the base and will perfectly fit in an envelope. Ofcourse giving it without envelope is the best way to give, but just in case if someone does want to put it in an envelope..it works well.

gh14b

While I used the same “best wishes” sentiment to keep the gift card holders general (to be used at any occasion), I did use 3 different stamps. The Best wishes on the top holder (rectangular) is from Mudra’s Purely Labeled set. The one on the middle (fun looking writing) is from. The one at the bottom (formal looking) is from a retired set of Stampin’ Up! The layer I added is the black in between the folded matchbook cardstock and the printed paper. I used Dawn’s dimension for cutting printed paper to cut out the black layer. So the printed paper on my GCH is 1/2″ x 2-5/8″ (strip) and 3-1/8″ x 2-5/8″.

gh14c

The inside of the flap is plain and has ample space to write a message. It is pretty easy to open and close, like a matchbook.

gh14a

The “For You” die cut is that from Lawn Fawn.I added some glitter with Wink Of Stella Brush pen and also some glossy accents to complete the look. Ofcourse the printed papers are from my stock of Simon Says Stamp Card Kits.

This is all for now.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting!

Cheers =)

Pop-Up Valentines

February is here and so is the monthly challenge at Indian Craft Room. This month’s Coasteride is related to Valentines. Check out the challenge at ICRCFEB17.

So I decided to make my card have some 3-d element besides the usual popped up image. I made the whole card dimensional 😉  The card design is inspired by Maymay Made It Crafts via You Tube. You can find the tutorial HERE.

icrcfeb17a

So the card front has dimension in form of the heart die cut that has been popped up.

icrcfeb17e

The inside pops up when the card is opened. A pretty easy mechanism to make I think. The 4 panels inside are either stamped or have stickers on them.

icrcfeb17b

The stamps, papers and stickers were part of Simon Says Stamp card kits. Honestly I don’t even remember which thing belong to which kit, except that they all are part of Valentine kits.

icrcfeb17c

The card ends up being fairly thick. So if mailing, it would require extra postage. But I can only imagine receivers excitement on getting a fun card like this 😀 I know I would love it.

This is all for today. Do check out the creations by other DT members.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

Pop Up Gift Card Holders

Today I have set of Pop-up gift card holder. So this is not my original idea, I got it from a crafter on YouTube. You can check out the video HERE.

So here is my version:

gh13a

It is simple and easy to make. It is 3-fold and when opened, the gift card pops up. Hence the name “Pop-Up” card holder.

gh13c

I used Kraft cardstock as base and some beautiful printed papers from Stampin’ Up! The printed papers are pretty old… I had ordered 2-3 packs since I had liked it and use it with care 😀

gh13b

The sentiment is from Mama Elephant’s Sunday Sentiments Stamp Set. I have it popped up on the band to give some dimension. Finally some sparkly enamel dots complete the look of these holders.

gh13d

I made 12 of these..a set. I also like how the printed papers look against the kraft cardstock- bright and cheery. I know all 12 have the same sentiment, this only makes them appropriate for any occasion 😀

gh13

This is all for today. More gift card holders to come soon!!

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

Pocket Tag Album

Today I have this album that I created as my yearly gift to my friend with her son’s (my godson) pictures. He turned 3 in december…yes the one for whom I made the Spiderman Punch art Birthday card 🙂

The album today is inspired from this project over a month ago. It was a actually designed as a card… all I did was added some chipboard piece to make a sturdy base. You can find the original tutorial HERE.

ptb1

The original has 10 pockets, I created one with 8 pockets. 10 would have been fine too, but technically I was going to do only 12 pics (6 pockets), but while working on the pictures, I found some other ones I wanted to put as well…so made a 8 pocket album.

ptb3

The tags have pictures on both sides, so there are 16 pictures in total. I love how easily you can increase decrease pockets. 8 pockets made the pockets a little loose…so if I added embellishments, it would have taken the bulk. I did not add any tag holders…I think the tags were easy enough to pull out since there are only 8 tags.

ptb4

Since it is mostly about the picture memories…I did not add any embellishments inside. also kept the outside simple.

ptb2

I used My Favorite Things Stitched Banner Alphabets Dienamics for the word memories. I also added circles to give a camera lens look. The 3 is a wooden piece that I colored with Distress paint. All of it including the cameras on the paper are coated with glossy accents.

I like how it all turned out…hopefully my boy’s parents like it as much 😀

this is all for today,

until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

Calendar Round 2

I am back with a Customized DIY  Calendar for Round 2 of the January Coasteride at Indian Craft Room.

The challenge is to make a customized calendar… basically a DIY calendar…could be for wall or desk.

Round 1 we had some awesome inspirations and now for Round 2, there are some wonderful inspirations. You can check them out HERE.

So here is my creation for Round 2:

icrcjan17-2a

Another desk calendar… simple and clean… some nice pattern paper from Stampin’ Up! (retired), paper doilies (from the same paper pack) and a wonderful matching calendar (fantastic coincidence.. more on it later.)

icrcjan17-2b

So the previous calendar that I made (check it out HEREHERE), was made of just cardstock. This one uses chipboard. The triangular base is made of 3 pieces of chipboard- 2 pcs of 6″ x 6″ and 1 piece of 2″ x 6″. The three pieces are connected using cardstock hinges that measure 2″ x 6″ and scored at 1″. I got the idea for this base from THIS video. It was easy to make and stand nice!

icrcjan17-2d

So now I had the pattern paper on and the base was ready. Started to google search, pinterest search for calendars. I can not remember how I reach this particular blog, but somehow remembered to copy the link 😀 So I found this calendar with doilies…except the orientation was different… and then I see recommended link to the calendar I used above. YAYY!! Perfect for my project! Do check out this blog Scrappystickyinkymess…she has some wonderful freebies. The calendar I used can be found HERE.

icrcjan17-2c

Finally I added these stickers from Pink Fresh (was part of a Simon Says Stamp Card Kit)…pretty inspiring phrases I think. Some bling.. and my project was ready.

Making customized calendars was fun… my first time trying these… but totally enjoyed…so many tutorials out there … so many different styles to try ALAS!! Not enough time!! Hopefully you can find time to try one and join in the fun.

This is all for today,

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)

New Year Calendar

Happy New Year to everyone. The New Year has begun and with it starts a new month and a new challenge at Indian Craft Room. A very apt challenge too.

In lieu with the new year, our host created a fun coasteride. ICRCJan17 is all about creating a  customized calendar. First time I heard about it, I was unsure what to do. Some more details and pics later… excitement to make one 🙂

So here is my creation:

icrcjan17a

A desktop calendar with drawer to hold post it notes. This is not my original idea. I found the inspiration from You Tuber The Crafty Spark-Lea Denton. Pretty easy to make, this DIY calendar is perfect addition to an office desk.

icrcjan17b

The drawer is decent size and will hold a big sized post it note or 2 small ones and there is enough space to even put a pen. The papers on this project are from Stampin’ Up! It is from an old paper stack of theirs. But I love this stack due to the elegance they add to a project. So I had stocked up on them 😉

icrcjan17d

I used some chipboard numbers and colored them orange, added some subtle glitter with Wink of Stella and glossy accent to give it a finished look. The quotes are from Pink Fresh’s Up in the clouds sticker sheet. They are rub on stickers, so I put them on black cardstock and finished them off with glossy accents as well.

icrcjan17e

The calendar–I had first thought I would make my own, but a baby does not allow for everything from scratch! So a little google search and I found the right size one for my project. I printed it on cream cardstock and used Mama Elephants Fine Trimmings die to create perforations on the calendar so I could easily tear out the month once it is done.

For first time making a calendar, I did pretty decent I think 😀 Hopefully I can create round 2 inspiration as well… until then, check out the other DT inspirations (linked above) and join the fun.

Until next time,

Happy Krafting,

Cheers =)
